A Special TRIBUTE To:
Anita Alberts of The Leading Women Entrepreneurs of the World
& the Brave Astronauts who Believe that
"The Sky Is NOT The Limit"
Today's show was created in loving memory of those who have left this earth . This week on "Juliette's Open Mic Radio Show" I will be playing songs that express a lasting love for those no longer living, yet whose presence among us seems to transcend space and time.
The idea for this Sunday's theme was sparked a few weeks ago, after the space shuttle Columbia disaster . . . as we collectively grieved once again, and contemplated the fragility of human life.
It also seemed fitting that I dedicate this particular show to a professional mentor of mine who, even though I only knew her for a few months, greatly influenced my life and the lives of many others. On February 18th, her husband and a few close friends celebrated her life and work on the day that was both her birthday, and their wedding anniversary.
As the founder of The Leading Women Entrepreneurs of the World, Anita Alberts' motto was, "Leciel n'est pas la limite" (The sky is NOT the limit) She lived believing this and demonstrated in her actions that what seemed to be impossible WAS indeed possible if you believed.
The astronauts LITERALLY believed that the sky was not the limit to their exploration of the universe for humankind. We are grateful to them for so much of what we take for granted today.
The songs I have picked for this Sunday's show reflect on feelings of loss, love, courage to continue, hope, peace and unity. Thank you for taking the time to listen to the following:
1 - Imaginary Friends, "Your Star"
2 - Anne McCue, "Always"
3 - tee-m, "You Go On"
4 - The Stragglyrs, "Moon Landing"
5 - Jeanie Cunningham, "We Will Remember"
6 - Erik Jay, "My Last Tear"
Let the lives of those we've lost inspire us to carry on with our dreams and live every day to our fullest potential. If we keep their memory alive, we extend the their vision through time and space enabling the fruits of their labor to continue to grow.
Stay tuned . . . Juliette Riedl
