Theme: RELATIONSHIPS - Part 1
Originally Aired LIVE on KCLAFM.com on January 12th, 2003

This New Year is ripe with new beginnings, new possibilities and inspiration to improve upon what has come before.  Often, BEFORE we can truly dive into the future and take full advantage of the present, we must confront, acknowledge and move on from our past. When it comes to RELATIONSHIPS, this is an extremely important step to take in order to move forward.

I'm sure it is no surprise to any of you that there are zillions of songs that have been written on this topic!  And, as my library of music continues to grow, it has been increasingly difficult for me to choose just a handful of songs to fit within my 30-minute format.

Therefore . . . for the next month or so, I will take the general theme of RELATIONSHIPS, and divide it into distinct categories, or stages, similar to verses within one song.  As always, I will try to weave them together in a logical pattern so that they create a cohesive composition of their own . . . a little story, with different chapters, with their its own beginning, middle and end.

This show, the focus is ACKNOWLEDGEMENT - the first step in getting out of a relationship is becoming aware of what's not working, awake to the subtle messages that may have been surfacing, but are not always what we choose to hear.

Come along with me for the journey as I play songs by:
1 - Kerry Getz, "I'd Rather Get It Over"

2 - Jennifer Marks, "You Won't Let Me Go"

3 - Kenny White, "Ready To Leave All This Behind"

4 - Severin Browne, "Leaving You's the Hardest Thing I've Known"

5 - Joe Purdy, "Ah - La Song"

6 - The Kinfolk, "I Don't Want Your Sympathy"

7 - April McLean, "All Out of Tea"

After ACKNOWLEDGEMENT I will cover songs about WHY things may not have worked, the FEELINGS left once it's over and finally, ACCEPTANCE in preparation for NEW LOVE . . . just in time for VALENTINE'S DAY in February.

There is a message in every song I choose, and there are sure to be songs that will tug on your heartstrings as they did mine . . . We've all been through these things at one point or another - whether as the HEARTBREAKER or the BROKEN-HEARTED.  And if you are HAPPY IN LOVE . . . hopefully these songs will reaffirm the love you found in eachother!

If, after listening to the show, you feel you would like
to:

* SUPPORT my efforts to help promote independent artists
