WHO is Juliette?

Juliette Riedl is the performer, promoter and producer who put together an eclectic grouping of music each week for American Radio Network on www.KCLAFM.com. Her unique voice and genuine interest in music of all genres are two characteristics that make her show a welcome break from what one typically hears on the radio or internet these days.

An aspiring actress with an extensive marketing background, Juliette was all-to-familiar with the plight of the performer to promote his/her art and message to the masses.

In the short span of two years, Juliette created approximately 100 original shows while at KCLAFM.com, served as a judge for the “Just Plain Folks” music awards, hosted various live web-casts at Kulak’s Woodshed and has welcomed thousands of unique visitors -hungry for the type of original programming she presents- to her own website.

While her weekly web-radio broadcast is currently on hiatus, Juliette is exploring the option of merging her two passions (acting and music) as Music Supervisor on a few of the films she has been in. She would also embrace the idea of syndicating the show on local airwaves across the nation so that the seed she planted can continue to grow.

HOW did the show come about?

After relocating to the west coast from NYC -where she used to frequent Open Mics with a friend who was making the rounds as a singer/songwriter/musician- she found new inspiration in the wealth of talented individuals in and around LA. With the desire to extend the reach of some of these incredible, yet relatively undiscovered artists beyond the local airwaves, she created her own web-variety show.

Moved by the music and motivated by the message in lyrics, she developed shows around a particular theme so that each song would be justly highlighted. As the show’s creator, Juliette personally listens to each and every song that is sent to her, storing into memory each artist and song for potential use in future shows/films.

WHEN & WHERE can I find the show?

While The American Radio Network used to host the show each Sunday on KCLAFM.com from 6:30 – 7pm (PST), for the moment, only pre-recorded broadcasts can be heard from the Archived Shows section. ARE you still accepting demos?

Since her decision to leave the American Radio Network, Juliette Riedl is no longer affiliated with KCLAFM.com. However, the show is currently being “shopped around” to a few local stations to find a new “home” for “Juliette’s Open Mic Radio Show.” As of March 2004, we are still on “hiatus.”

If you have songs that you feel might be well-placed in independent films, please feel free to send your demo tape/CD with liner notes, brief bio, and description of your market niche to Juliette for consideration for use in any films that she (or her growing network of industry insiders) may be working on. AUDIENCE

Juliette’s Open Mic Radio Show was created for everyone who’s tired of hearing the same old songs played over and over again and for those who want to be delighted with an eclectic array of original music that is thoughtfully collected and presented with a particular theme in mind.

Although it is nearly impossible to accurately project the number of listeners worldwide, it is more realistic to report that, for the most part, the show is actively targeted to singers, songwriters, musicians, promoters and music enthusiasts.

After only 6 months on-line, this website garnered over 15,000 hits. The visitors keep coming from all parts of the world, even since mid 2003 when the last live show was broadcast.
